Lebron As A Child

Getting To Know A Superstar

Lebron was born in Akron Ohio on December 30th, 1984. He was raised by his mother Gloria who was just 16 at the time of his birth, a mix between a young parent and an absent father contributed to financial struggle throughout his younger days with him and his mother moving quite frequently. Eventually Lebron became acquainted with a football coach who went by the name of Frank Walker, Mr Walker gave Lebron a sense of stability by allowing him to stay for a short period of time in which Lebron came to the realization of his talents and began to put more effort into his craft.

Rising Star

By the time Lebron was a senior in high school he was already viewed as a phenomenon who was ready to play pro when given the chance. Recruiters emphasized his talents and abilities as something that hadn't been seen before with a player still in junior high, he was over 6ft 5in with a wingspan covering 7ft. The mixture of his physical attributes and understanding of basketball helped him secure the top page of Sports Illustrated at just 17 years old, this bolstered his presence in the discussions with NBA executives throughout the league and would help him in becoming the number 1 draft pick out of high school.
